The Huntingtown VFD&RS is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Clara Mae Buckmaster. Clara Mae served the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary for an astonishing 56 years, and held every position, up to President. Clara Mae has also served as the President for both the Southern Maryland Volunteer Firemen's Association Auxiliary, and the Maryland State Firemen's Association Auxiliary. Prior to the creation of the 911 system, citizens of Northern Calvert County would call Mrs. Clara Mae's house directly for emergencies, where she in turn would alert the members of Company 1. As stated by Company 1, "Clara Mae was always the friendly voice in the room, she leaves a lasting impression on everyone she met, and will be deeply missed by everyone".
